Made these up last night. Paul Schafer would have liked them.  :)  Tried the new carbon collars from 3Rivers on the point ends.

How do they fly?  Like feathers?  Always thought it would be nice to have some rain arrows.

Tim in Wa.

do you need to shoot those off of an elevated, flipper type rest?

Dsturgisjr

I shoot them right off the shelf of my Black Widow longbow. They fly just as good as my 4 - 4" feathers. I have to shoot them 3 fletch with the cock feather up.

What glue did you use on those Denny?

Dino, I used Fletch-Tite platinum on a wrap.

Boy I'm getting scared! You know the old saying "what goes around comes around"? What next, a compound? Ha, good shootin, Steve

Looks good, Denny.  I've been thinking about making up some arrows with vanes for my elk hunts but thought I would need to use an elevated rest to make them fly.  I have no problem using a rest, but it's just easier to shoot off the shelf.

I could get my RV and field pts to fly pretty close.  Put a broadhead on an RV arrow and I had terrible arrow flight.  Denny, would love to know if you can get BH's to fly with them.

I'm not putting up with this guys shit and dogging me.

Dsturgisjr

Bowmania, I've not seen any difference from feathers with Woodsmans and Zwickey heads. I've shot quite a few critters with them.

The shelf on my longbow is real narrow and I nock 5/8" high.

I tried carbon express Terminater hunters with vanes and they flew perfect with Simmons Landsharks.I had them bareshafting out to 20 yards. In a decent group. The thought was to keep one or two in the quiver on the pig hunts where the rain caught me deep in the swamp.I too shot them off the shelf.I was shooting stumps with a buddy after a down pour and with judos we both did good. We spotted a dilla and his broadhead tipped arrow hit the dilla sideways. Mine shot like a bullet. He never laughed at my vanes again.RC

Well RC, since all this talk on front loading and FOC, I have been shooting heavier heads and alot less fletch! Great flight and great results!  I have even shot big 180 thunderheads with matted fletch, no problems! And Denny, why the plastic fletch, you have that great quiver that covers the fletch from the elements?
