It was good to meet RobTattoo last night. Conan, ( furstalker ), fixed him up a 70+ bowfishin rig. As you can see in the last pic that Sky posted..... it was a ROCKET LAUNCHER !!!  No one had to wonder when he shot, that arrow sounded like a rocket when it hit the water compared to our 45lb rigs.

We got to talk a little after the shoot as well as on the way back to his truck. Really sad listening to how restrictive hunting and shooting was in England for him. We best be thankful as well as vigilant in protecting our rights here in the USA lest we be like some other parts of the world !

RobTattoo is going to Twin Oaks with us this weekend too so he is in for a treat. Wonder how many of his English buds will want to come on over to the USA with him ?

These gar are about thru spawning but another group should be running, according to my expert guides, in about a month. The next group are supposed to be BIGGER than these.

straitera,
Under normal conditions you are probably correct, but we are right below a hydro dam and even a few feet out from the bank the water gets deep quick. Most shots were about 12yds out so the water was probably about 20-30 feet deep right there.

WOW!!  What a great spot.  I'll bet you guys had some real fun.  We have a good place in IL, but mostly 2 foot shortnose and some spotted gar.  I'm still looking for my first 3 footer.  I'd be real tempted to make the drive for that kind of action.    :archer:
