Hello Bjorn, if you don't mind me asking how old is your son?  I assume that's who's coming with you. I have a ten year old son who I'm trying to get bit by the archery bug and was thinking about bringing but he doesn't have much patience for long car rides or listening to extended instruction for that matter so I think he's going to pass on this one.

kurtbel5

Ha mines 14, and feels the same way.

snag

Better "season" them a bit before they go on one of these trips! Good decision.

Just heard from Doug at Surewood Shafts. They are donating about 100 shafts for our clinic. He's even tapering them!..let's hear for Surewood!!! Now, that means I'll be a fletching maniac for the 2 wks. leading up to the clinic! Got to go order supplies!

pshooter: Adam is 15 and is not happy about long car rides either. I bought an inverter which keeps his computer charged up no matter how far we go. That keeps him in movies and games to make the journey bearable. Once we get there he will be OK, plenty of windsurfing and fishing the week prior to our 2 day session.
He got me into archery about 6 years ago; so this is all his fault!

pshooter1

Kurt, don't know if you read my post about loosing your pm with your phone # but if your still interested in ride sharing let me know with another pm. On second thought I'll send you a pm with my number and you can call me if you want.

My son loves shooting his bow and goes to the local 3d shoot with me and loves that too.  We use that method too when driving to Idaho to Grandma's house.  I'm more concerned about his attention span while listening to Rod give his demonstration but I would really love him to get some first class instruction especially at his young age and just starting.  Oh well, he's has plenty of time to learn the right way.

Bjorn

Snag-I love the surewood shafts-and we are not expecting you to become a fletching fool for us    we have arrows for the low poundage bows that Adam and I plan to use.
I know you'll be busy doing all the other stuff getting ready for the clinic,
maybe we can just get some of that fine shafting?

runamuk

Well i just got back from Alaska and have enough Red's and Halibut to feed an army,, I would be plenty happy to bring a bunch, Caught cleaned vac sealed & frozen same day they were caught..Just need to know a rough estiment of how many will be there..
I also have a two burner camp chef and dutch ovens i will bring..Also i will bring lots of paper plates cups and plastic forks and spoons, i should have enough for everybody..
I also plan on bringing a cooler full of bottled water and sodas.. i also have 4 or 5 folding chairs and a small table i will bring..
If there is anything else i can bring just let me know..
Thanks Snag and Ted Fry and all the folks getting all this set up,, no doubt it has taken a lot of time and effort.. SEE YA ALL THERE..

snag

Wow! Want an offer Runamuk. You might send a message to Ted. He may want to include some of your catch in his Sat. night BBQ. Helping out with the supplies, chairs and stuff is much appreciated! David

This is just getting better and better.

Dwight and I are carpooling in and camping at the range and will bring extra chairs and supplies.I will bring a case of trash bags for the clean up.
I have a big expedition stove, would it help to bring?

Dave and Ted have done enough (can't thank you guys enough),
Wondering is there any interest in a potluck breakfast at the range?
and who has a really big coffee pot if we do?lol

or should we just carpool to town??
I'm game for which ever way we go.

        Kurt

snag

A potluck breakfast sounds like a great idea Kurt!
The "expedition stove" sounds good. I am bringing a 2 burner propane stove. Interesting you asked about a really big coffee pot! I am looking for one..lol  I'm thinking of just getting a regular stainless steel pot to boil water and then use a drip filter and insulated pot. I'll bring lots of ground beans! I'll have a couple of 5gal. water containers. I also have a camp table to set up the stoves on. I will bring a wash basin and soap, paper towels. As far as breakfast what do you guys like?
Eggs, omelettes, bacon, sausage, muffins, pancakes, french toast???
I like the idea of rolling out of bed and enjoying the morning at the range instead of having to drive into town and fight the breakfast crowds...might be quite a few windsurfers.

It took some bribing, it is going to cost me a few days at my brothers' condo on the beach near Newport, but I have a definite commitment from my wife.  She thinks there might be enough things for her to see/do locally while the shooting clinic is happening.  We will be arriving on Friday and unless s a hotel room becomes available somewhere close we will be staying at the range too.  We will bring some extra chairs and if needed two small folding tables.  Now I have to get busy and make me a 40# left handed bow before then.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Great that you are coming to join us Walt, good trade on the week at the beach so you can join in.
We will most certainly take you up on the fish Runamuk, We will be starting the fishing season here off about the same time as the clinic but that is mostly Steelhead , Salmon wont be in till the end of August , YUM BBQ Salmon , my favorite.
We will have a few other meats to partake in as well. Maybe this would be a good excuse for a pig hunt Bjorn, as if you needed an excuse right?
Matter of fact , I am going to do my best to get Rod into a steelhead or 2 while he is here.

snag

Man, I am getting hungry...isn't it lunch yet?!

I'm with you Ted...BBQ Salmon is fantastic! Infact, we bbq'd some the night before.
That would be great if Rod could get a steely on!

Glad it is all working out for you and your wife Walt!

Looking forward to it all!!!

LOL David, She is a gem,
or is she just glad to see me go,I can't decide?

Walt
I have a 40# LH recurve,if you want to use it.

David
Looks like 7 or 8 camping?
15 or more for the BBQ.
Does that look close to the #'s?

We can start figuring on #'s for breakfast are going to be the same as the BBQ.

I have a couple of coffee pots, but I think thats just a drop for what we need.
