Here's why....my cousin is new trad archery.  He has a K-Mag at 50 lbs., 2016 29 inch arrows.  The guys at his shop are telling him to shoot 125 gr broadheads and that he needs nothing heavier.  I disagree. I'd like to see him get his FOC up.   Post your set-up so that I can get an idea if I don't know what I'm talking about. List and add pics if you'd like.  THANKS for the help.    :clapper:

Haven't narrowed down to just one as of yet, kind of depends on what I'm hunting as to which I'll grab... All shoot where I look and I'll shoot which ever one I choose to use exclusively for a while before the hunt.

Bow/Draw weight: ^60" Predator II Recurve/55#@26.5"
Arrow and length: 2016 Easton Legacy(w/wraps) @ 28"= 581 gr. total weight
Broadhead: 145 gr. vented two blade
Total weight up front: About *260 gr.(including hotmelt)

^This bow is cut -1/8" past center. But, I built it out at the strike plate to about +1/8" to +3/16" positive of center to cause the shaft to act stiffer because of the extreme amount of weight up front.

*Achieved by inserting a .257 caliber bullet, at 87 gr., into the end of the shaft, immediately behind the insert, and secured with hotmelt.

Getting superb arrow flight with this setup. But this would not be possible without adding material to the strike plate area because of the very weak spined arrows with extreme FOC weight. I had already made the arrows that way to shoot well out of a slower bow that wasn't cut-to-center. Then, I just tuned the predator, to shoot those same arrows well, by adding the material to the strike plate area, to counteract the very weak spined shaft. Much time involved, but I love the results: high FOC weight with very good total arrow weight.
