Hello everyone. Just getting back into archery and was wondering what brand of feathers do you use?

I have seen Gateway and they seem to have a rather thick base and sometimes uneven thickness from feather to feather.

Has anyone tried AMG  or is it worth the extra money to go with Trueflight.

Your choices and reasons/opinions  for going with your brand are greatly appreciated

Thanks and best regards
Paul

Trueflight, but I'm looking at the AMGs.  I usually buy full lenght and chop my own.

Thanks everyone.

I have been saving all the primaries from wild turkeys buddies have graciously donated.   I have tried my hand at dying some of them and they turned out great with Kool Aid as dye...but I can't find a bright enough yellow to suit my taste.  I ended up with a very bright and intense red by using 3 pkgs of  Tropical punch Kool aid one of Strawberry in a quart jar.

Used a rotary fabric cutter and a template my friend made to cut 5" shields and it works well.

Now I just need to find a bright yellow dye.....is there a feather specific dye available.  Unfortunately I live in a very small town with little in the way of retail outlets.

VTer

Norseman I use RIT dye. Most grocery, pharmacy type store around here sell it, butI ordered my last few boxes right online. Shipping was pretty cheap.

Rit dye is one I have tried, but the only decent color they have here in town is Scarlet. I will have to try a few other colors and blend them to see what I can get ...thanks
