Hi Guys,
What is the deal with the abowyer broadheads? I don't here much talk about them.
Good or bad?
Thanks
Jeff

Deadsmple

I love them. They are one tough broadhead. I like my broadheads thick and I have not found another like these.

sorry it's not a great pic.

Their bonehead has been around for quite a while.  That's the head in Deadsmple's post above.  Good, solid head.  Excellent as a matter of fact.  The others are newer designs.  I have a half dozen of the Wapitis on the way.  Can't wait to put them to the test.

Jeff Kruse

So will they sharpen up pretty good?
Jeff

Orion

Should be a breeze with a KME broadhead or knife sharpener.  Pretty easy to do with a file as well.

Don't have any experience with them yet...but they are TANKS!!!

Well Put Terry.. The photos just don't do them justice. When you get one in your hand, it's like... holy smokes! I could take out a tank with this thing!

They come very close to sharp out of the pack and the ferrules are machined, not stamped. Lots of good broadheads out there but, hard to find  better quality broadhead than the Abowyer at any price.

I never complain about prices.  Ya often get what ya pay for  :) .  I signed on to John's site the other day to order some of the BH.  They had the 135 gr in stock and that was good for me.  clicked to order them. paypal came up and wanted $12 for the shipping on 3 BH????? I didn't finish the sale.  So I guess I don't complain about the price but the shipping Oh my goodness.  what in the world are they shipped in??

They're pretty easy to sharpen on a stone, fly well, and are tough( I tried to destroy 1 today and all I did was chip the edge chiseling it out of a stump). The service was great and they arrived in 2 days. $ 12 for shipping? For this broadhead, anytime.

I got a bunch for the young lad and myself-we are going to hopefully try them out on hogsthis week.
Great looking head-super sharp out of the box and a perfect bevel angle-give them a look!

Dmaxshawn

I am like Terry still in the waiting phase.  I came real close on some pigs but they didnt like the swirling winds.  Maybe a turkey will get one but I bought them for hogs.  when it happens I will post the outcome.

Bonebuster

I got some "Boneheads", and was very impressed.

The bevel is already correct, and only needs cleaning.

I was able to get these heads hunting sharp without much effort at all.

"Tanks" best describes them.

BobW

I have a few "Whitetails".  Similar to the old Pearson Deadhead, but 215g.  Rock solid.  A little "off" on the grind, and the KME bh sharpener had to completely re-set the angle.  Took a LONG time on a XC Diamond stone, and there is still a "difficult" area on the edge.  Knife sharpener would be best due to the curve.  Don't take this as a problem.  The right tools, and all is good.  The steel is excellent, and the construction appears good too.  I have only managed to "kill" a log that was on the back side of my target (yeah, with the mass, I got a complete pass-through -

I have a handful of them, but am not a two blade guy! If I was they would be at the top of the list for sure, great head!!! Someday I may try them but for now will stick to larger wound channels offered by 3-blades!

Haven't shot them but got a good look at them at Kzoo.  Have to agree they are mighty nice heads.  Perfect if you're looking for a single bevel in a larger profile.  That Whitetail head... well, you just have to see it.  That thing is a monster!

$12 to ship for a pack of broadheads???  That's absurd.  Sorry but I can send a 6 pk of Magnus heads overseas in a cardboard envelope for a touch over $6 including the cost of the envelope.  Mike at The Nocking Point sent me 4 packs of 160 Ribteks for a little over $3.  He even called me back to make sure it was ok because they weighed a little too much to meet the intial price of $2 and some change.

Yeah I didn't really understand the shipping cost either. Fortunately Dan sent me 6 packs so it was just a small incremental amount.
Ground to the correct bevel and shaving sharp outta' the package-I am in broadhead heaven!!

Dan Palma

Sorry about the confusion on shipping prices, the PayPal cost was set too high and it has now been corrected.
Thanks
Dan
