I have a RER LX that I'm very proud of and I'm
wondering when the concept of a near center shelf and a reflex/deflex design was invented.

Probably about mid to late 1950's would be my guess, maybe a little sooner
A little sooner would be my guess
Some 4000 years sooner.
A very pronounced r/d design was USED by the old egyptians, (the ones that built pyramids..) Some 30 or more found near pristine in tombs from the time. LAminatged wood, or lam. wood and sinew, glued w. milk glue.
The woods in some of these bows suggest they were obtained from Syria, suggesting some very early arms trade. Dunno who invented it or when.

Hoyt's first one was 1953 I have one that Earl signed. When I get some time I’ll post a picture.
