Hey guys, just got a new to me Super Shrew Chameleon 50# @28 inches.  I have some Vapor 3000 Carbons I would like to shoot out of her.  I have been shooting a couple cut at 29 inches with 225 grains up front.  Does that seem right?  I am getting decent arrow flight, but would like to fine tune a bit.  Also, what spine woodies would you shoot?  What are you guys shooting out of your shrews?

Shawn, I shoot 65-70 woodies out of my 53# Shrew longbows and 75-80 out of my 53-57# Shrew recurves.  I am not real familiar with the Vapor Carbons but I shoot 55-75 Gold Tips on occation and get good flight from my longbows.

Shawn:
My super shrew is 52# at my draw (27"). I shoot
Heritage 150's cut to 29" 4-4" feathers at 60x120 with 100 grain brass insert with 125 grain point.

The 3000s are .400 spine so I would say they are too stiff for 50#s. Add more point weight with a brass insert or heavier point. Let us know how you like the shrew.

The 3000s have a .400 deflection so you should be real close with that set-up.

I had an older model at one time with the same draw weight. That liked 55/60 cedars w/ 160 up front.  I have heard new ones would like 60/65's at that weight and arrow length. I suppose if you stuck with 225 up front you might want to go as high as 65/70 spine.
Just one more step please!

Great Job finding your Chameleon bow. I have a 54" Classic Hunter Chameleon 46@27 and a Super Shrew 56" 48@27. The best carbon arrow combo I have found and beleive me I tried them all has been the AD lites cut to 29.25 with 150gr head up front. Total weight is around 490grs and they fly like darts. I also have carbon express, goldtips,Grizzlystik Sikta's tuned to where they fly well but not laser straight like the Ad lite's. I would like to try some wood shafts myself but am not sure which spine to try first.
