I just got mine in but am concerned with the broadheads being exposed.  Do you modify the inser? Slip a practice head all of the way into the insert to form a hole so you don't dull an actual hunting head? What do you suggest?

I've looked at other's photos with Boas but can't tell what was done.  The only thing I can tell for sure is the broadheads and the shooter are protected by the rigid cover.

You do push the broadheads into the foam if that's what you are asking.
What, me worry?

Yes I guess I could have worded it better.  I guess once the slits for the broadhead are made I won't have to worry about dulling the edge.

Steelhead

You might use one head to put all the slits where you want them. And then put the other heads in those slits.

As Steelhead said, use one broadhead to make the holes first off, then you should be fine. I use a mini boa and I cut the holes in mine when i got it. I don't have a problem with it dulling heads. Pushing broadheads into the foam to make the holes much is better than using a field point to make the holes. It's a lot cleaner and more accurate.

I take the foam out and cut a 1/2 inch off it too so its up inside the hood. Then do what Steelhead said. Then I mark the slits with a red magic marker, it makes them easier to see till they get wallowed out. That way you dont cut the foam all up.
