I have noticed that the Schafer silvertip recurves are drilled for the Kwikee Kwiver mounts.
Do any of you have and use the quivers on your Schafers?

JRY309

I don't think they come that way unless you request it.My Silvertip had no inserts,I used a limb bolt Thunderhorn quiver.

Benny Nganabbarru

Yep, it's an option only. Mine doesn't have those holes.

All my 'Tips are setup for a Kwikee , Best hunting Bow Quiver made!

I know it is a option but, I have noticed many that are pictured or for sale with them.

I used one in my early days but not for 20 years now.

You know, I have seen a LOT of pictures of big bucks with Barry Wensel and his bows in them.  Doesn't matter what bow he is using, it usually has a Kwikee on it.  I'd say it is a pretty good system...

I agree. I've adopted the KK use from Uncle Barry. It's sooooooo easy to take off and on the bow for stand hunting.

Guys I tried one a few years ago and it sounded like dropping  a metal bucket full of bolts down a escalator. It probaaly could be quited down but I would rather start with something quite.
I love the way they attach/detach from the bow, make it handy to transport your bow. But not quite enough for me.

With the little lever they are VERY easy to put on and take off. Hence the great name. do the Wensel bros make any changes to theirs to quiet it?
From the above picture(nice buck) it looks stock.

Here's a modified KK, of course it's not quick detach anymore, lol..  It is quiet, light and just the right size, IMO..

You get an extra mount and screw it into the tree to put the quiver on, if you're worried about noise. Back when I used a bow quiver, I never had a problem with noise on the KK though.

If its good enough for Barry W. its good enough for me.

I thought they rattled alot also and KK must have thought the same  later models came out with a thumb screw to help keep quiet.

I got my ST with a bighorn quiver option. Its a solid mount.
I've been entertaining the idea of switching to the GFA Quiver but having the arrow right there for a second shot is nice too.

I'll bet you money people who use them take them off and hang them on the tree or in the blind, They are noisy, but if you like em go for it. I love the way they detach and the way they hold the arrows but are just too noisy for me.

Take a look at the Bohning Lynx quiver. I like it because it holds the arrows in two places and I don't have to worry about the broadheads getting dull going in and out of the rubber quiver base. The lever lock doesn't make any noise either. Sounds like you have a very nice Schafer. :)

SilverTip

if your a old Silvertip shooter anything but a kwikee just does'nt look right on them to some of us. the 3 arrow and 4 arrow quivers they offer now are very quiet plus a limbsaver on the back of the hood next to the riser makes a world of difference on the older model quivers.

My tip has the bushings and I wrapped my KK hood with leather.  Helped with the vibration noise;looks good too.
