I went into the draw with 4 points. Now I am hoping on a Bear tag next, going into the draw with 8.

A bunny hunt would be fun, depending on time and location.
Another option to get together is at a trad-only shoot. Rib Mt. Bowmen in Wausau (central Wisconsin) has one Jan.10-11. It's an indoor/outdoor shoot, and lots of fun, regardless of weather conditions.
Whitetail Bowhunters hosts one Feb.14-15 in Johnsonville. (eastern Wisconsin) indoor only.
Rib Mt. has another on March 21-22

Here is what I am thinking. I am the Director of Archery at the Waterloo Gun Club. I could very easily open the club house up for the day. So there will a warm place to meet before and after the hunt. It could be a pot luck, beverages can be purchased from the club house.
There is plenty of public land to hunt on, maps are available on the DNR website. I can also ask the local tree nursery for land access.
I could even set up a few 3d's. Of course I will have to run this by the board members, but I for see no problems.
What's everyone's thought on this?

Sounds good to me Paul. I'd try to make it. Richard, blunts are probably better for bunnies than broadheads, particularly on a group hunt.

Whats the idea for a date? Into January? I don't know about others, but December tends to be booked pretty tight.
Sounds like a hoot though, I'm in if I can.

Late January? Early February? Days are a tad longer.

I was thinking the same. Late Jan. or Early Feb. I will need to check when the clubs winter trap shooting starts. They shoot on Saturdays. Sundays are open. Would there be a problem with a Sunday? or Would a Saturday be better?
We could go all out with this and even have a raffle of sorts. Proceeds could go to the WTA's youth program. Plenty of time to plan this. I will do some checking in the next day or two and find out when I can get the club house.

I think the only 2 dates for Jan or Feb I have to avoid are Jan10 (WTA shoot at Rib Mnt) and Superbowl. Sounds like a great location.

That's not far from where I hunt, only about 2 hours from home. If the dates work out, would you mind a flatlander joining in on the fun?

Kalamazoo Expo is Jan 30 - Feb 1. Super Bowl is Feb. 1, so that weekend might have some conflicts.
I can probalby come up with some good private ground to hunt near Waterloo. But early Feb. won't work for me.
Anybody have beagles?

Hmmm...
I'll be in Texas the first full week of February, including the 7-8 weekend. UBI banquet is Feb. 28 so that's out (you should all come to that anyway, right Jason?) so hopefully it will happen in the "middle" of February. But, don't make it according to my schedule, make it for when it works best for the most participants.
I'm just sayin'.
