Snowshoed Sunday looking for a new Elk area

Started out this morning 24 F. You can see the road upper left

Man I miss Colorado!

Pay dirt or pay water in the forest about .8 miles. First pic was my son and my dog

Looking back over some of the terrain. We started at 9,400'

Not sure if you can see but the far back top right side is "kinda" awesome.

Sometimes the dark timber gets dark in the middle of the day

Portions got pretty steep, as we climbed. Is there any other direction in western Colorado?

Climbed to 10,747'. Wanted to go about 0.5 more miles maybe next weekend. Told my son to start a little fire. (Why?) Usually we pack Granola bars and thats it

I had saved one pack of Whitetail sausage to skewer over the fire. Yahoo

On our way out. We live way in the back of the photo. 42 miles one way from the house

That photo where I said it was dark timber was at 10,000' they were standing on a pond. Yahoo

Don't you love these fences. We were in about 10" of snow most of the time.
