When I buy another bow I'm pretty sure it will be a 1-piece. It will be a Tip or Rose Oak Ultra Delight Special edition.

I'm liking that Allen is ordering a lefty! I hope it has dark woods, is 60", and around 47#@26"!

Of course I'm hoping more that he is so happy with this bow that he keeps it forever!

Beth called me yesterday and mine should arrive any day NOW.  Will post some pics up soon.

Roy, I started this thread a few years ago. I'm sure I changed my wood choices a couple times before it was built. I ended up with a beautiful Silvertip with Marblewood lams. I'm sure you have seen a pic or two of it before.    :archer:

Yikes, I should have looked at the date.

Thanks for bringing me back to the present!

I did a double take when I first saw it this morning Roy. I first thought, "hey, I started a thread just like that once!"   :dunno:

Allen, got your former bow in yesterday, shot it back to back with my Robertson.  As I said previously, first Tip for me.  Both shot near identical as far as feel/ cast/ quietness etc.  I'll say, Tips sure are some nicely made bows.  The finish work on the riser was really only rivaled by my Habu.  Well, after a day of shooting, the Tip is however on its way to Louis Lucido.  I decided to stick with my Robertson (haha even though I just listed it for sale!).  The grip on the Robertson suits me better, and while the Tip was a beauty, the slimmer lines of the Robertson are more in line with my love of longbows.  I'm glad I test drove the Tip.  Now I understand the devoted (fanatical??! Hahaha) following.  Honestly, if I had the drive, I wouldn't hesitate to order one new.  Alas, I have once and for all realized I am a longbow lover.  Hence the Robbie also going up for sale.  Here's some pics comparing the Tip and the Robbie:

The Robertson doesn't really give up anything in finish to the Tip.  They're just 'different', though like I said, shooting qualities very very similar.  They were the same overall length but the Tip has 1" longer riser, Rob' has longer limbs.  Also, the pad angles on the Tip riser are steeper.  Tip has wider limbs.  Overall the Fatalstyk is just a slimmer proportion.  You couldn't go wrong choosing either!

Chuck, I was just thinking of sending you a PM to ask how you liked the 'Tip. That's a fine looking Robertson as well!

Here is the Silvertip I am hunting with right now...

Allen- I was glad to put my hands on it and give it some range time.  I am an eternal bow test driver.  Had I already sold my Habu I may have held on to it.  I was already working a deal on a bow Louie had, he and I have done some business and have made pals and he knew I was getting the Tip and has a few himself, so we discussed him potentially taking it off my hands if I decided it wasn't love at first shot.  So it ended up working out.  Louie is a Tip fanboy and I gave one of his longbows a good home and got a little coin.  If he decides to pass it on I have first dibs again.   If I ever have a Tip built it will be with the charcoal riser like the one from you, love the coloring.  Think Dave would build me one with longbow limbs??

Izzy, waiting for the UPS delivery man can be maddening.  Been there, done that.  :)  Remember though, "good things are worth waiting for".

Bowwild

Yep, that 1-piece Tip is a beauty!
