I recently bought a Tomahawk used from a friend that needed the money.  I ended up shooting my biggest buck ever with it, but since I have missed high three times with the darn thing.  I seriously think it might be too loud.  I have the old school puff balls on the string at the 3rds and that made it okay, I shoot heavy arrows out of it that helps, but what the heck am I missing to make it only make the sound of death.
Thanks
Dustin

Dustin....spend some time working on the brace height.  Sometimes, a 1/4" change can make a big difference.  Don't be afraid to try changes in that string height...from 6 1/2 to 8+ inches.

I had a bow get loud on me.  I ended up changing the string.  Made all the difference.

Dustin,
I agree with Mr. Stout, work with the brace height.
I have a Tomahawk Desert Fox Diamond series, 52# at my draw. My brace height is 8 inches. I use "wooly whispers" silencers and it is very quiet (until I torque the bow and the string slaps my armguard!).
I also shoot 585 to just over 600gr arrow.
Hope this helps
John
