Rumours about Magnus Broadheads
« on: October 14, 2008, 08:49:00 AM »
Does anybody know if Magnus has been bought out? I heard this on the weekend, as a different friend hasn't had any response from Mike Sohm concerning his questions.

I checked with Magnus and there is no foundation to this rumor whatsoever.

According to Magnus, "We have not sold the company.  The company is not for sale, nobody has even approached us that was interested in buying the company and we have no plans to sell it in the future."

Always best to get it straight from the horse's mouth I guess.

Well, that's what I thought.
Good to know that this rumour was exactly that.

Must be a rumor....I just received an email from Mike a few days ago. He was just checking in to see if I received my purchased item and wanted to know if I was satisfied.  Sounds like good personal customer service to me!

Hi Swamp...no a friend is using Stingers from his compound. I'm actually using 160gr. Ace Standards with 45gr adapters. Total arrow weight is 600gr. with snipper line stuffing(about 18% FOC)...I like these ALOT!

I do use Stingers from my lighter weight bows tho.

I'm glad this was only a rumor. Magnus is the only broadhead that I use. They work exceptionally well out of the bows that I shoot and I'm not looking to change things.

I have ended up with a half dozen Magnus two blades 160gr.I was going to post a "who uses Magnus "post but found this one.Do you guys sharpen them or use them straight out of the package?I've been practicing all summer with 125gr.fieldpoints.These Magnus 160 seem to drop out of the air at more than 15 yds.i'm not sur eif i'll go with them or not.I'm taring the crap out of my target ,trying to practice with them.

Paul, I usually practice with the same grain field tip as my broad head that way there isn't much difference in my shooting capabilities. I don't pre-sharpen my heads either. They are plenty sharp out of the package. I've got a scar on my right index finger that's proof in the pudding sorta speaking.

Anyway, I practice with the field tips and that way when I shoot a few of the broad heads, I don't tear up my targets as bad. I'm pretty consistent doing it this way too. Not a whole lot of change in my groupings at 20 yards.

The Stingers are pretty sharp out of the pack, but any of the glue on Magnus I have tried have been dull...Mike
