i bought one last season a #55 td recurve for $125 to my door
i thought it  would be junk but it turned out to be a really decetn bow and i would highly recommend it as a cheap beginners bow

i have since moved on to more expensive bows but it stilll shoots just as well  :)    :)    :archer:

i bought a samick verna 1 piece longbow last year and love it. im new to trad, but it shoots pretty quick, and is dead quite. i was shooting at lemmes archery with shawn leonard last year and when i told them that i paid 140.00 for it they couldnt believe it.
im sure at some point ill but a "more expensive" bow. but i dont realy see a need right now.

George Stout should come along and shed some light on this subject. it was his post about what a great deal the samicks were that convinced me to buy my verna.   :archer:

Right there with you guys    I shoot a samick deer slayer and could be happier with it.

BEN

I started with a samick..........good bow for a beginner at their $$.
However, the grip didn't fit my  hand well and I passed it on to another beginner archer who couldn't afford a new bow when I found a used bow that fit me better,

Yeah, my dad has a Samick T/D, nice bow, but like Ben said the grip could be better, dad's is like holding a 2x4

i've got a samick stingray.one of the best bows i've ever shot and i've owned a bunch.

I have a couple. A Verna longbow that is light, quiet and suprisingly fast and an Equis recurve that has become my main hunting bow. My oldest son has a Horse bow and my other two sons have long bows made by Samick.  In the past I have shot Martins and Bear bows, The finish isn't as good but perfomance-wise, I would rate the Samicks right up there with them.
My bows often get kind of dinged up over the course of a season, so I tend to prefer the cheapest bow that can get the job done!

Yup, I have an Equus 55# one piece 52" recurve. I shot it flatout for three years and it never got tired like I did! Being short it will punish a poor release. I will use it for spot and stalk and out of smaller blinds if the need arises. It likes heavy arrows and smokes a 450gr carbon. I still shoot it as well as my longbows and I love the handle, it fits me better than the others - like  a glove. It was a bit noisy until I put leather on the recurves and string silencers. It is a great, fast and consistent shooting bow.

Every Samick bow I've ever shot shot great.  For the money I really don't think you can do any better unless you happen to find a steal on a used high-end bow....and you usually don't find them for a steal.

A guy in our club (now defunct) used to whip us all every time with a Samick Deerslayer.

I just bought a Samick Stingray 50#@28 a month ago and love it to death. Trad Tech Lee Vivian is the man who sold it under trusting circumstances and a perfect price and choice for me!

Was shooting a Deerslayer, but was over-bowed and sold it to Dave Bowers.
Currently, I'm shooting a Greatree Volcano and have no complaints.  Solid bow for the price.

Patrick, tell us about how that Stingray shoots - smoothness of draw, handshock, etc..

I had the spirit II recurve, it was a descent shooter, the more I shot it the more I like it until this happened =/

deadpool

Tom Anderson

Christian,
Were you able to get that repaired or replaced under warranty?

Bought a Samick Mountain Stalker TD for a learner/beat around bow, and that thing shoots better than I can make it - amazing balance, great value, solid in hand, and reasonable to upgrade the limbs.  Thought about selling it off, but I enjoy shooting it too much, so at home on the rack it stays.  It may get a reel this spring for some bow fishing...

For someone just starting, I can't recommend Samick enough.  Even if you've got a bunch of the fancy ones, the Samick's are still a great value.

LEOPARD

I started out with a Samick. Great beginners bows, but you grow out of them.
There is no comparison between them and other bows on the market though i.e. Schafer, Shrew....        :D
