Thanks All.  I am always happy when I get a Turkey, they are a blast to chase.  When I was a kid we didn't have any around here and then it was only about 10 years ago that you could hunt them.

Stic, the knife worked great! Not much to work on, but I had no issues with it that is for sure.
What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, men would die from great loneliness of spirit, for whatever happens to the beasts also happens to man. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the children of the earth

I know what you mean about the elk haveing stage fright!!

Congratulations, Jason!  Good shooting and great story.  I heard a bunch of birds today while I was out hanging stands.  I've been wanting one of those young ones; they gotta be great on the table.
