Wonder if they can just do the limbs on a 1 piece recurve and leave the riser alone?

Indianalongbow, I'm not sure if sipsey river can do what your're talkin' about, but I saw a 1 pc.  Belcher longbow at baltimore that had the limbs dipped but not the riser, and it was sweet!

Jedimaster

Very cool!  I'm as confused about the "dipping" as Ben but the result is pleasing and very down to business.  In the end, I'd guess the guy with the camo bow is the most serious hunter in camp.  I think it's cool.

For me it would be a blaze orange camo. Either that or a tie down to myself.

Ok, I just think that is just plain cool.  I love it.

Ben said what I was thinking.  How'd they do that?
It looks good, but I'd attach a quiver full of arrows with bright fletchings before I lost it!

indianalongbowshooter , Yes it has 2 coats of Fullerplast over the camo for durability.
Or it can be dipped only for bowyers so they can mark and finish the bow as they wish.

Doc Nock

I have a Remington 700 SA in 7mmx08 that is fully dipped...barrel, stock...everthing but the bolt..factory...in some very old fashioned Treebark I think...some of the original stuff I remember seeing.

When I was friends with the guy who owned TruWoods Camo, he had guys doing gun stocks in it.

Just for curiosity, I'd love to see how that is done... it has to be intriguing!  :)

I don't think I'd get it done on my bows, as I like the wood patterns too much.
Same here, that's why I got it done on a Lee Signature. Action wood limbs and a laiminated riser.     :)

Maybe Sipsey could chime in on the process since I know very little.

There have been numerous demonstrations done on outdoor TV shows.  It is essentially a thin film floating on a fluid that the object is actually imersed in, and adheres to.  Pretty cool, and you would be amazed at what they have done.  Might try a search for "How Camo Dipping is Done"

Great looking bow. Makes me want to send my Quinn Stallion to SRTA for a dipping.

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

I can't get into that camo on a wood recurve bow.
But if that's what you got a hankerin' for then go for it.  Just ain't me 8^(.

Glad you posted this...we talked to them at the Traditional Bowhunters of Florida shoot back in Feb./Mar.  I have one of the mainly all fiberglass black Black Widows I want to have this done to.  Plan to send an email tonight.

I hear ya George, and I feel about the same. But the Lee Signature Laminations didn't do much for me either.
 :)

countrygirl

Well I have a great lil black widow one piece recurve that was all black.  We read the threads some years back about many people removing the black paint and refinishing beautiful laminations.  It did not work out for us because only the handle was wood....the limbs were white glass.  We have had some problems getting the paint to stick when reapplied...so I have a widow with blotchy finish and I think this is just the answer.  I got a pm from Lonnie and he is going to take care of it for me.  My bow is packed and ready to ship tomorrow.

Sipsey River did this. Look at the Sponsor's Classifieds for info.
After the bow is dipped in the camo finish, it is then sprayed with a clear spay similar to that on any bow. It should prove to be very tuff!

We can do just limbs too. I have four of mine done, they look good.
