Well Rob, Bongo are endangered so cannot hunt them. Pretty animal though.

tradtusker, I was invited to go with some guys who live there, they all rifle hunt but they said they have a few hides over watering holes that I could bowhunt out of, I told my parents that this is what I want for my senior trip since I will be graduating highschool next year, so I am saving my money for the trip, I just had know idea what I wanted to hunt, I am also getting a new bow for the trip, a voodoo kustom elk riser td longbow, keep the pics coming guys, it just makes me more excited for the trip

Thats cool Ian and a good opportunity to get out there go for it.
most people start with warthog and impala as there first as i did because they are plentiful and pretty cheap but you gotta be careful because they are real string jumpers.

if there is any advise or help you need before the trip don't hesitate to give me a shout.

As Andy pointed out, the warthog and impala are unbelievably quick. A good tip that was never relayed to me until after 6 were gone before my arrow was 3 feet of the string: wait until a warthog goes to it's knees to drink before dropping the string. They make even a Texas whitetail look slow in comparison.

Danny, you can still hunt Bongo in Cameroon and Central African Republic...but as the saying goes, "if you have ask how much it is..."    

Good luck on your hunt, it is an experience that you will never forget.

JC...I bet you'd be pretty quick too if you lived in the African bush for a couple of months.
