I've reached agreement to purchase a Dale Dye T/D recurve from limbow.  I'll be mailing out the MO tomorrow to pay for it.

I talked with Mr. Dye a couple of times first to see if it would be possible to reduce the draw weight down 8 to 10#.  He told me that at most it would be about 3#.

The second time I talked to him about ordering a new set of limbs.  So, I'll be sending off an order for the limbs early next week.  They will be 62" and 48#@28".

I'll be advertising the 60", 58#@28" limbs after I receive them.  As I recall they have Bocote on the back and belly of the limbs.  I believe it's flat grain on the back and edge grain on the belly.

The riser on the bow is Bocote with accent stripes.  It has a checkered grip and the grip looks like it is a grip to die for.  I'll post pics and give a fuller report after I receive the bow.

I've been dying (no pun intended) to get one of Dale's bows and 60" 58#@28 would have been perfect for me. Bill, I'm jealous!!!!

Fred,

I'll sell the 58# limbs to you to get you started.  I received some pics of the bow this morning and I think the limbs are actually his medicine wood stained to match the Bocote.

I had just about talked myself into buying it when you did, but I have 2 and one on order, If I were you I would hang onto the limbs just in case you want to sell the bow later. They will fit another Dye but the match will not be perfect, each set of limbs are made for a particular riser, no two are exactly the same. Great bow ! If you don't like it for some reason give me a holler.
Take care

Danny,

Did you buy yours new or used.  If used, I think I may have saw a pic of it on a list of Dye bows Saggitarius has.

Bill,

It was made in 2004 but has never been shot until I received it. Got it from Steve Berger in NY. I purchased a spare set of limbs also that are 64" and 64#.

Bill,

Glad to see the excitement associated with you buying my Dye!!! You are right about the grip, it is the best feeling grip I have had on a DYE! I will upload some photo's of the limbs for you but won't steel your thunder on posting a pic of the whole bow. Take care and enjoy!

Marco,

I've read a lot about the Dye bows and this is the first one I've jumped on.  The Bocote in the riser sealed the deal for me!!   :)   EVERY bow I see that is built out of Bocote, it is a tremendous temptation for me to buy!

If anyone is interested Lamont Granger at the Footed Shaft in Rochester, MN had two T/D Dale Dye bows at a shoot a couple weeks back. They were both very attractive bows and I shot one that was 53# @30" and it shot fine.

Kevin,

If you have all of the pics in photobucket, or a similar online photo hosting service, could you PM or email the link to me?

Thanks for the pics you posted!
