Hey Gang,
I'll be heading out to Colorado in early September for an elk hunt and was curious how many arrows most of you bring on a hunt.  I like to stump shoot a lot, is a dozen arrows usually sufficient?  Cheers, Matt

I've never gone beyond the first six on a hunt, but if I were going that far on an elk hunt I would probably have 2 dozen along with my 3 or 4 bows.

It depends, if you are like me I shoot at varmits whenever I get the chance, and rockchucks tend to like rocks, I,d take 2 dozen maybe four doz if I was there more than ten days. but thats just me.

I usually take 10 to a dozen hunting arrows, another half-dozen or so for shooting a small stuffed target at camp, and another 3-4 for stump shooting while hunting.  By the end of the trip, most of those are usually broken.  Uaually, all but one of the hunting arrows come home with me intact.  Sometimes they all do.   :)

I normally take 2 bows with at least a dozen and a half for each bow.
Then throw in at least dozen trash arrows for chipmunks and such...they're sneaky critters!
If I was doing a backpack hunt:
1 bow w/extra string
1.5 dozen hunting arrows, .5 dozen trash arrows.
Just my 2 cents worth.

same here, two bows and a dozen to dozen and a half for each and plenty of braodheads
It is a world with dew still on it, more touched by wonder and possiblitly than any I have since known.

wow some guys take a lot of arrows, a doz will get you thru a hunt no problem, a few shots a day to keep limber you shouldn't lose maybe 1 or 2

Always take more than you could think you needed.
I take at least one dozen broadheaded hunt arrows plus another dozen field tipped as backup/stumpin arrows.

If driving out there... as  many as you have... flying out 1 dozen... the cost per-bag now sucks.

I know you are coming from a long way off.  Being local I never take more than 4 and 2 judo HEADS just to stump with or take Ptarmagin.. Toting all those arrows can be cumbersome, but leaving them in camp 12 would be fine.

Just realize that when in Colorado and you're stump shooting that the Rocky Mountains are aptly named. The most innocent looking "stump" is most likely growing out of or sitting upon a very hard part of the world.

A Doz would be good I always take more.  Id rather be safe then sorry.  I just toss an arrow tube in the truck when I go which has at least a doz.
