Ive been tempted to build a glass bow for years but have always put it off. I find myself thinking more and more about it lately. I could really use a light target recurve and that seems like a good excuse to build one. Plus if I pull it off maybe I could build some bows for the kids, they are shooting cheapo solid fiberglass camp bows now.

Seems the bow building supply market has changed in the last few years with old companies gone and new ones showing up. So where would a guy go to find a design for a 30# bow and get supplies to build it? Making a form and heat box shouldn't be a problem. I dont care how long the bow is as long as the bottom limb is out of the dirt when I hold it up. Smoothness and accuracy would be much more important than speed.

Im looking at it as a target/training bow. I have some bad habits I think shooting a light bow would help with and right now I have a shoulder impingement issue that makes me scared to try my longbow.

Hi Matt,

Eric at bendingbranchbows.com is offering the plans I designed.

The 64" D/R modified is a good choice for decent performance in a lighter bow...
Stay sharp, Kenny.
