I ended up ordering the solarez, now have to wait a week. Hopefully the stuff is worth it.

Kirkll

It does the job pretty good on deep pores, and drys really quick in direct sunlight. I use$ it with UV black lights and it dries pretty quick too.... But... I really prefer spray lacquer for my basic sanding sealer needs primarily because it's so quick and easy. I'm using it more for detecting missed sanding scratches as I work my way from the 36 grit shaping grit to 120. That and any wiggles. That high gloss lacquer makes it easy to see imperfections.  But for filling grain... the stuff doesn't do well. It shrinks too much.

Brandon Stahl used to use polyester for grain filler and a good build up for high gloss finishes. I always wanted to try that myself, but never did. What I did was quit offering a high gloss finish completely. That solved my problem. I had some high gloss bows I did years ago that I worked on for a week to get a perfect mirror finish on. Lost my ass on those bows... :o
