I'm looking for a shorter (60" or so) hybrid longbow with something similar to a pistol grip & thumbrest, just love the way they look. Main consideration is a quiet, smooth drawing bow

Eyeing a Toelke Whistler (without the linen micarta riser) or possibly Shrew Tsunami.

I know there are a ton of options out there, what is your favorite?

Good lookin 47# Whistler on his inventory page. Of coarse you probably know that  :biglaugh: Dan and Jared just about done with my Chinook. Like the Whistler it has a reputation for quietness. Good luck in your quest. I must say the list of qualified reflex/deflex longbows is endless. Tough call fr sure.
Oops it has Micarta. I had been looking at all of em and forgot

Iowabowhunter

I think they can build one without the micarta, need to find out!

They can and have. Some are in fact on the inventory page of his website and I ordered mine out of Cocobola because I ain't a Micarta guy either.

Favorite is a big word. I'm a Toelke fan for sure, but the Javaman Elkheart and Big Jim's Thunderchild are two of the best hybrids I've shot, and certainly deserve some consideration.

Cari-Bow makes a great hybrid longbow. I have 3 of his hybrids..58 inch Wolverine and 2 Peregrines 62 inch. He also makes a 60 inch hybrid (a Slynx).  I also have a 62 inch Toelke Slynx 3 piece takedown that Dan no longer makes. It is my favorite.

All my favorites, you'll have to get second hand, they're no longer in production.  Big River, MOAB, Moosejaw.  Razorbak is my current date.

I've had a few a 21st century, two Scorchers and currently have a Habu Death Adder. Out of all of em that 21sr Century was my favorite. Only 47 @28, but I could flat out shoot the darn thing without thinking. Wish like all get out I never got rid of it.

I really like how Shrews shoot.. I shoot a 54" Shrew and previously shot a 52" Shrew for a year or so.. Very light in the hand with no noticeable jump in the hand when shooting.I don't like heavy mass bows , some people think the Shrew is too light in the hand, preference is so individual. Anyhow good luck with your new bow!
