I have spine question about wood arrows.i have bow that is 55# at my draw length 27.50 and my arrow length is 28.50 bop . Curious on arrow spine recommendations I was thinking 70-75 or 65-70 , oh the bow is cut 3/16 past center.thank you for any input.

Orion

Given it's cut past center, I suspect you're also shooting a low stretch string on a fairly high performance recurve or hybrid.  Given those features, and if you're shooting a standard weight head, say 125-145 grains, either will likely work, but I'd go with the heavier of the two in a 11/32 shaft, the lighter in a 23/64 shaft. If you plan to shoot a heavier head, definitely go with the heavier spine.

I would agree with Orion. Before I saw the 3/16 past center I would have thought you were too stiff but that changes things.

I shot 55# bows for many years and prefered 70-75's. My draw was 28 and arrows cut to 29 1/2 with 125 or 150grn heads  :archer2:

Hey thank you for your info on this  , there always seems to people with more information about arrow spine selection in this form of archery , because it seems to be more critical to the way our bow shoots?

Hud

You might consider ordering a test kit from 3Rivers (sponsor) which will give you several spines to cut, finish, taper, and fletch then add different weights. Start about 10 yds. If want to paper test, hang paper on a box frame 2 ft. in front of your target butt. Arrows that are weak will tear a hole to the right (RT Handed bow) and left if to stiff. Then you can add point wt. if the arrow shows too stiff and vise versa. Have fun.
