Took me a while to get on the board this year but finally got it done yesterday with an Alabama doe.    She was alerted by another deer as I loosed the string and I hit her far back but luckily the broadhead found an artery.   100% of the orange thread ran out but my end caught on the limb of a pine tree.   I waited an hour and started following the thread.    I had my Olight uv flashlight which made the thread glow like a beacon.   Not once on the trail did I see blood but the doe was DOA at the end with the thread still attached.
