Stringer help

I just got one of the Asbell tribute bows that I understand Shrew is making. A stringer came with it, but I'm not real sure how it works. I get the lower limb pouch part, but what about this other end. Does that loose end tie back onto itself?

The cup for the lower limb tip is fairly obvious.  I've never seen a front slider look exactly like that. Can't really tell how it's put together from the pic, but I believe you need to tie the loose end to the main cord such that it forms a large loop containing the leather patch. You need to put the top lib through this loop, affix the lower cup to the lower limb tip, step on the cord hanging from the bow, and then slide the leather as far forward on the upper limb as you can. Finally, pull up on the bow riser and it should bend the bow limbs enough to slide the top string loop into the nock.

I've never particularly liked this stringer design.  It works, but I much prefer a double cup stringer.   

Looking at the picture again, it may be that the piece of leather is tied in such a way as to make a cup, which would fit over the top limb tip, not slide across the limb. I dunno. I suggerst checking with who you bought the bow from. Good luck.
