I really don't like the word "vintage" lol, I kinda prefer Classic...
I was just wondering how many folks hear were planning on hunting with an old production bow this year?
Let us know whatcha got, what your using, and pictures if ya got'em!! :archer:

I'm using a 56" 43# 1969 Bear Grizzly, wearing a Bear "Grayling Green" Selway slip-on quiver, full of 45-50# cedar arrows that my son Little Bear made,
tipped with 135gr 2 blade Zwickey Deltas.
If I can ever figure out how to post pictures on here  :banghead: I'll put one up....
She sure is pretty!!! :archer:
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...

May The Great Spirit Guide Your Arrows..... Happy Hunting!!!

55-60 Surewood shafts with some 135 gr 4 blade Deltas with 5" parabolic fletch.

I would love to hunt with my '72 SK but 55#'s and my 80 year old body say no. Might get off a shot but it would take me days to get it and me tuned agian. I even have some Bear Metric Mag arrows and Bear razorheads to go along in my Bear bowquiver.

woodchucker

That's a classic set-up right there Tom!!!
If only we were younger.....  :readit:

This year I'll be bowhunting with my 1972 Bear Black Panther Hunter recurve (50# / 52"amo). With either german spruce or aluminum arrows, and Ace Standard broadheads or Bear Razorheads.

Thanks Frank!!! The old Black Panther Hunter was one of those "sleeper" bows you rarely heard about.
They shot great, and were way cheaper than the more popular bows
Wish I could find some of that old school camo!! I'll just have to stick with my old cotton Mossy Oak Tree Stand bowhunting shirt.
Been wearing it a long time, and it's still got a lot of years left in it... :archer:

Funny, but the three I bought new I probably havent used in over 15 years.  Don't think I succeeded in attaching images.  (Well, I got one composite image!)

If you're looking for some of the Fred Bear old school camo go to Ebay. Rothco X, sells the new ones and there are always some old used ones on Ebay. Mine is the new Rothco X brand.

Gonna hunt with a laminated bow this year instead of a selfbow and this 69" Drake will definitely get some time in the woods, just a nice shooter.

Here are 2 vintage bows I plan to hunt with this season. Both are Browning Bows. The one on the left is a Browning Backpacker II takedown and the other on the right is a Browning Explorer II one piece. Both of these bows shoot very good and they are in great shape giving the fact they were made sometime between 1972-1974. Our season here in Maryland starts Friday Sept 5TH. I will start out with the Backpacker II. Good luck to everyone this season.

  Thanks Woodchucker. I hope to make good on a wager I have with a couple young guys at work, and the wager is I will attempt to take 12 deer using 4 different bows. And these 2 brownings make up 2 of the 4 bows that I will be using. Wish me luck{LOL}
