I'm wanting to wrap/re-enforce an area of a limb on one of my self bows. How do you all go about this. Specifically if its in an area of the limb that has a swoop and/or dip in it where the thread will span across gap. How do you get the thread to conform and stick down into the dip while still keeping strong tension on the thread as you wrap it?

Can you post pics of the area that needs a wrap? I think a wrap would lose it's effectiveness over the dip or depression. The threads of the wrap pushing against the wood surface is what makes it effective. You may be able to wrap either side of the dip but without a pic or 2 it's hard to say.

The problem is the limb has a slight cup on the belly. Its a place where the limb has both a wiggle and a roller coaster. - how to get the the string to go down into the cupped area? It will stay flat and tight to the surface of the back the bow.
Assuming I can get the string tight and flat all the way around the limb, how do you all finish off the wrapped area - rub glue into the wrapped thread area?

I think just flexing the limb would lift the wrap up eventually in the indented area.
I've used thinned epoxy(Massey finish) and super glue to seal bow wraps.

You could lay a rawhide patch over(maybe even around) that area. If you have it I'd use hide glue but TiteBond III should work too.
