After having layout issues with my reverse handle backset longbows, I solved the problem by changing from a 1/4 to a full length aluminum template. I’ll try to add photos at the end.
Using 1/16” flat stock. Lock your steel dial caliper and scribe the template CL. Drill holes along CL at the middle and ends to align along the bow blank CL that was made using a contractors laser. (Needed due to backset on bow)
Layout bow profile tapers with a scribe, file to lines, and check on a level.
Clamp flexible template to bow blank and mark.
