Kirk...

Not sure if this is one block or 2, but I'm fond of either one with the orange check on it....

Solid choice Terry, That's the nicest of what is shown there in that photo ............you stare at that piece for a bit and it becomes 3d,  almost like it's alive! :bigsmyl:

Looking at wood before you lay it up, can be deceiving sometimes…. You never really know which way the grain is running on this wild looking material. Once you  shape the grip and riser completely it can make pretty straight grained material look wild.

So ya never really know what it’s really  going to look like until it’s shaped and sanded. Every one is a surprise…. Kirk

Ah, nice to know that picking riser wood isn't like picking veneers.

Its going to be fun watching this build along.....

Kirk, when we start, I'm getting the order into you on Monday of all the info you'll need, just need to know if you want to use this thread or start a new one for the build along....

Oh, and lets do start with a raw photo of the block to be used for the riser before anything is done. It will be neat to see the changes throughout.

Oh no!!  Did I forget to send you a copy of the order form I filled out?  If so I’ll get that to you tomorrow…. We got Easter bunny activities going today.

I’ll start a new thread for the build along called “ A blind Sasquatch for Tarz “

I’m still wrapping up a couple bows right now, and only have one more complete bow, and a set of new limbs in front of your build. So it will probably be another 30 days before we get into the thick of it….. but… I always get the riser started ahead of time…. So it won’t be too long…..   Kirk

My buddy has a lefty he's offered to sell me.  Beautiful snakewood riser and marble wood limbs.  He has 2 sets of limbs and it's an attractive deal, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting used to the grip.  Are the Sasquatch grips pretty unique?  I'm finding it just takes more effort for me to maintain consistent hand position.

Kirk, no worries...

I have a list filled out, I just need to add the circumference of the grip.  Get that done tomorrow...

My standard grip are medium wrist angle with a 5 degree wrist rotation to the thumb ledge and typically have great reviews.   That left hand handed bow had a custom grip with a higher wrist angle than my standard grip, with more palm swell and a slightly larger throat circumference.  So yes… that one is unique.

But…. It could be altered to fit you better. I’ve done grip reshaping before. Send me an email if this is something you are interested in.     Kirk

Good stuff.  Kirk, no hurry on the work order. I goofed in my email on the grip circumference  :knothead:

My hands aren't as big as Sasquatches'.  :biglaugh:  :biglaugh:
