Here is my main hunting knife. It's my version of the Fred Bear knife, broadhead file, and sharpening stone. I also added a ferro rod. The knife has a 4" damascus  blade. The knife, file, and ferro rod handles are deer antler. The sheath has a pocket in the back for a spare bow string. 
HE made me into a polished arrow & concealed me in HIS quiver. Isaiah 49:2

This thread reminded me I needed to do my after season cleaning to my hunting knife. ( I know, I should clean it after every time I use it). Mora Garberg. My favorite, surgical sharp and easy to keep it that way.

I have more than one.  Kinda like having one screw driver.  Wont work good in all occasions.

POLK if that's tinkering I'd love to see what you do when you get serious.
I've only made one knife...about three years ago from an old file using a hand held grinder and belt sander. Actually didn't overheat the steel grinding it and it's sharp and holds an edge well. Padauk handle.  See photo. Too many hobbies and I'll leave knife making to others.
My main knife for the woods is my Randall 8-4. Had and have many others (nowhere near Ron LaClairs collection) Bucks, Bench, Kabar, Gerber etc etc.
Being a lefty I do make my own sheath

SOME  OF MINE..Two DOUG CAMPBELL belt knives, one buck combo folding, and one Swiss Army. i use the Swiss Army the most.

Mini Cattle bone neck knife , horse shoe home made hoof pic also works great cleaning a MIL' S  teeth . Which get dirty from taking smak about me .  :biglaugh:

I have some Doziers that I like,but the Buck Brahma 117 that I've had for a few years has become my favorite hunting knife. The Case knife I've had since I was a kid,and like to use it around camp. I got that Case for $15 at the local hardware store.

.              On the contrary Mr Jon ,  you Sir must be the real deal when you're able to identify and know the various names of  gear / equipment of this particular style of attempting to eventually ride the finish horse straight up in the bridal .  With a signal spade of course .  Don't know if you have checked the prices lately on true Garcia silver spade bits out of Elko , Nevada.   Let's see if down the road I can post a knife pic with  36 plait bosal . Or a bosalito used in the two rein .   Or some exclusive romal or romel reins  depending on what part of the country your from .   BTW Mr Jon try to always buy your mecates from mane hair and not tail hair ,  lol.  Take care my friend Sir  !  .........
