First for a longbow and first rabbit overall
« on: February 28, 2022, 02:41:47 PM »
Hi all,

I know it's not quite as glamourous or exciting as a big game animal but I recently got my first rabbit. For kill with a longbow of any kind and first rabbit with a bow of any kind.

My wife and I were minding a property for a friend who lets us hunt their place over a weekend and between checking trail cameras for the fallow deer rut I snuck around the house with my bow. Great fun, and a big confidence boost when you can hit such a small target. Bring on the deer!

Dunno bout there but here rabbit is fit to eat table fare.
And regardless of size any game with a longbow is a trophy.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Thanks mate.

This one went into the freezer, along with a few others I shot over this weekend with a .22lr. I also missed a few more with my longbow.  :biglaugh:

Congrats!  Nice shooting.  That's a tough target for sure.

In reference to *If archery /bowhunting is about inchs....small game is about increments of ;^)

Small game is where the fun is....It lacks  the inderscribable tensness that hunting deer can "sometimes"take with all it's trials and tribulations set in motion by things/people out of our control . Small game like rabbits-squirrel-ground griz-etc....lacks MANY of those distractions.

Small game bowhunting is always  about a day of smiles , enjoyment , fun .  Congratulations !
Arrows are the Life-Blood of a hunt........They need a safe place to be until called upon  !
