What's this cool old bow?

At our annual trad 3-D "Rock Shoot" in Moses Lake, WA, I spotted this cool bow for sale.  There was no make or model on the bow and the seller did not know who made it.

I showed the bow to Howattman after someone thought it was an early Howatt, but he said no.

Here are a couple pics of the only marks on the bow and a pic of the riser.  It's in excellent condition, shoots pretty good,...and I think it looks cool too.

Can anyone help with make and model?

What year(s)?

CAT Number is wrong for a Pearson though it does look a lot like a Palomino.

Looks a lot like the Herters bows in the 1962 catalog. I know the numbers are not like the ones we are used to seeing, but it looks very similar.

The back and belly of the limbs are both ivory or cream colored.

Here's another pic of the strung bow:

You DID buy the bow, right? Not just take a lot of pictures to ask questions with? How does it shoot?

The white glass doesn't exactly reek of Herters. Very pretty bow, though.

I agree.....I hope you bought it....its a looker for an older bow no matter who made it.

Is it still for sale?

Looks like a Galaxie or perhaps a Colt...just a guess but I have a few of those that are similar.  Doc

I don't care how you slice it....That is a Ben Pearson. I say a '65 or '66 Pinto. I'd bet Migrabill's dog on it. Nice bow BH.

I bet its as smooth as warm butter and hits like a hammer.

(edited...changed to Pinto....I was looking at a Colt when I typed....brain f*rt)

After doing a little looking it matches up with the Pearson Pinto pretty well. Looks like a 1962 but the numbers are wrong.

Yes, I did buy it.    ;)  ...and it shoots great.

I just hate to be shooting this bow and sound  like a stooge    :smileystooges:   when someone asks, "Who made that cool looking bow?"

....uuuuhhhhh....duhhh...

It was made by Pearson no doubt.  I have bows with the same hand written print.  The same person did the printing.  It's probably a '60 to '62 Pinto or Mustang.  I forget the names right off...Van

65 & 66 Colt's with white glass were 40# and under. They used dark glass on bows over 40#

It may have been made for resale by a sporting good chain or such, like was done for Montgomery Wards and Sears.

Jim Pic--I edited my orignal post...semi-senior moment. Where would you like me to send Bill's dog?   :readit:

Might be my eyes but looks more like the javelina to me. The pinto has a rounder window area. Fun looking bow whatever it is.
