Its about time I replace my bandsaw blade and I wanted some feedback from you bow builders.

What teeth combo do you guys use for cutting hard exotic woods? I have a Delta bandsaw with a 1/2 HP motor and my blade is 93.5"x.5" if that matters.

I use a 3 TPI hook blade, 1/2"X.025 for cutting my Hickory shaft blanks and have pushed many feet of wood through them.  I get them at a local Ace Hardware store.

How about a carbide 3 TPI blade? Can cut almost anything including fiberglass. They are expensive but will outlast any regular blade dozens of times over.

Lewis Brookshire III

Yeah those are nice but out of my price range.

I tried those so called carbide tipped blades. They are slightly better than a regular blade but touch fiberglass with one just once and it is ruined. The real carbide toothed blades are cheaper to use because they last so long. Especially if you cut a lot of tough bow materials like diamondwood, glass and carbon.

kennym

Didn't know that, all my cutting is hardwood, they last much longer in that than regular blades I've tried.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
