I feel vindicated Kenny!!! I thought I was seeing things when I saw him last year. Glad someone got a photo of him, and that he made it through the winter!

That is really cool!!!!

That's awesome! You might need to paint some of your decoys white in order to get him to come in.

Sam McMichael

Is that an albino, or is it a domestic turkey that got loose and reverted to the wild? Whichever it is, it is very cool.
Sam

Wheels2

Doesn't have the much bigger breast of a domestic turkey.

The black beard is interesting.  Grecian Formula?

Cool ! Not sure where in Missouri that was taken , but I know in the early 90's on a ranch between Mansfield and Ava , there were several flocks that either were mostly white or piebald . None were albino. But their behavior was the exact same as the traditionally dark Eastern birds. Never did a get a shot at one.

Thats awesome! I am no biologist, but would imagine the beard would remain dark regardless of the pigmentation anomaly. It isn't like a humans beard and grows much like a toenail from what I understand..

I have seen a few hens that were "piebald" but nothing like that! very cool and thank you for sharing! That is no farm bird for the skeptics!

Season is in for us in SC and they are giving me a fit.. Basically they open the season too early in the upper part of the state (which was passed to change next year), and they are henned up. They gobble on the roost and shut up on the ground, then stay in the thick pines throughout the morning with no pattern just courting hens.

Possum Head

Hope you kill him. That's awesome!

Full body mount would be mandated!!!   :coffee:  :archer2: :campfire:

I saw another one several years ago 25 miles north, also had a black beard. Must be standard equipment. I'm very sure this is a wild one , and I emailed the MDC to see if they are legal, if I ever call him in I'll decide then if I'll shoot.

We have had the smoky birds also , all hens that I've seen, and I have seen an albino hen once a long time back.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
