1950's model Long Bow ???

My Dad owns this bow that has all aluminum limbs and appears to me to be a longbow of sorts. He said that his Mom and Dad purchased it for him in 1954. He always thought that it was an Ivanhoe. I have searched the internet for such a manufacturer and have found none with that name. If you could........please help a fellow out and if you have any information about the possible make and model of this bow, please post here. The only thing that is stamped into the riser is 40 lbs @ 27 inches. Any help would be very much appreciated. The bow is 65 1/2 inches from tip to tip and is still shootable. I don't know how to post pictures so please follow the link below.

Don't shoot it. The aluminum becomes fatigued and brittle. Hang it on the wall for the history, anything else can be a bad deal.

Ivanhoe,is correct and the date is pretty near the correct time frame as well.Maybe static tips??? As for a shooter or shooting...yes they will fatigue and kinda stay bent like at full draw or sometimes they will snap right off at the riser..Which can lead to bumps on your head...So I probley would not shoot it eather....4 screws holding the limbs to the riser ??? If so...also pretty neat as those were really the first take downs,long before anyone else ever made one....bowdoc

I believe Ivanhoe was made in Ludington Michigan which is 60 miles  north of where I live.

I had a fellow bring in a bow that was made in Sweden, it was the same thing, but it had custom-made for and his dad's name on it.  He wanted to purchase a string for it, because the original was really bad, I advised him to hang it on the wall.

No, actually it looks like it was riveted or something similar to a rivet. The heads on each side is smooth. We don't have any plans of shooting it. I don't think it has been shot since about 1972-1973 timeframe, and that was by me. I can tell you that it's use lead to my most memorable hunting experience. A guy on another site sent me a scan of an old magazine add for the bow, and it was manufactured in Ludington, Michigan. Thank-You......everyone for posting.
