Tender meat looks good when you are busy
« on: December 02, 2018, 09:36:22 PM »
I have only had 4 days off from work in the last 10 months, so I wasn't going to be choosy when I got out of work in time to get in a tree.  Last light turned what I thought was a decent doe into a spike.  Should be plenty tender.  Had to christen my latest Stickflinger, anyway.

Congratulations! I'm glad that you were able to make meat with such limited hunting time. Your harvest gives 2 examples of why I am against Antler Point Restrictions (a hot topic here in Michigan).

You had only 4 days to hunt, and you were able to take advantage....what at first was a doe turned out to be a spike. APR's would have had you going home empty handed.

Very happy for you

:clapper: nicely done Pat. Congrats! Should taste every bit as good as a doe. Enjoy your rewards of a good hunt!

Umm. One inch steaks in a cast iron skillet, s & p and a generous blob of butter.
