I'm looking for an older bow for bow fishing, every thing being equal which one would perform better, in a 58-60 inch length 45-50 pound draw.

IMO they are the order ones are equal.  I have had both and I always had a Red Wing Hunter 58 inch as my go to bow.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

WidowEater

I have used Bear grizzlys at 58" and Wing hunters at 58" with similar performance. I opt for the bear though because of a more radiused arrow shelf.
Silence over speed.  Heavier arrows never hurt.

Raineman

Jim, I'm partial to the Grizzly's, but thats just my personal taste. I don't think you can go wrong either way for what you want it for. I think Migrabill MIGHT be parting with his Red Wing Hunter if you are in the market. Can't remember what the weight was, shot real nice though.

Stone Knife

I don't want to make this a want add, but I'm in the market.

LOL, I know, just trying to help a couple good guys out.

Pops

IMO, you cant beat a Grizzly in 45-50 for bow fishing. They are light weight and quick.

Bill Carlsen

I always found the Wing bows to be faster and it seems I could shoot them more accurately.
The best things in life....aren't things!

J.Williams

Don't have any experience with Wing bows Jim but have had a couple Grizzlys and still have a 56" 50 pounder that I kill carp and bunnys with...shoots better than I'm capable of...but that isn't saying much lol.

Jerry Jeffer

I really like my Wing, but have never used it to bow fish.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

:scared:  using my Wing to fish..?
It's my first and only trad bow...I'll be watching this thread though , there are always things to learn about the why's and wherefore's of how folks are set up ...

Wings are quicker, like the Bear grip better...

Don't know anything about bears but my brother in law's only bow is a wing and he has been happy with it.

tippit

I've collected both but I think the Wings are faster especially the early small tipped Red Wing Hunters...Doc

Nice collection Jeff!

For hunting to have a future, we must invest ourselves in future hunters.

Ga.boy

Yep, I shoot Wings and Bears too, but the Wings have the edge in speed in my opinion. I agree with tippit that the early tiny tipped RWHs outperform the later models, but I think the T-Birds are the fastest of the Wings.

Jeff; You are correct in your evaluation of the Red Wing hunter's . In a Speed test conducted by by Tice and Watts in the late '70's , the Red wing hunter was actually the next fastest Bow to the Tice Spartan hunter! By the way, great collection!

Very nice collection. Picked up a Wing Falcon for a reasonable price at shoot a couple of months ago. I am told that this particular Wing is about 35 years old but it looks like new. I like it because it's a light 40# bow that's good for my practice sessions. Shoots good too.

I have a couple old Wings one of them has the small tips, original strike plate 58" 40# @28. That's the one Joe will be fishing with, but bear wins out in this case, I just bought a 45# 70's Grizzly to fish with.
