No I wouldn't mind if mine can in a little light either.

Worked on *****'s bow today.  Got the tips shaped out and polished.  They are deer antler.

D

I also got some color on the bamboo.  I hope ************** likes red.

Just kidding...well it actually is red at the moment but it won't end up being that color in the end.  Doing a base coat of red gives the dye I put over it a rich color.

Looks busy in here and some fine lookin bows being built. I got to work on mine a few hours last night and tonight got it bending up to about 24 inches but looks like maybe it will be a few pounds light... Closer than I thought tho.

Man I am gone for a weekend and miss a whole bunch. Nice looking bows everyone.

Well I got another BBO into glue up tonight before work. Should be all set when I get home to rough it out and see what the glue lines look like. I will sand down a handle and should be all set to glue up before I head to bed in the AM.

Again great looking stuff guys!

D,  Nice looking tips.  I noticed some red on your thumb in the first pics and was hoping it wasn't blood!  Good to see it was probably the red from the back of the bow.  :)

D

lololol Yeah that was from the paint.  I didn't even notice it was on there.  I paint houses for a living and it just goes with the rest of it that always on my hands I never even notice if there is any on there or not anymore.  But anyway gonna head up to the bowshed in a bit and get some dye over that red.

Great looking bows being made on here everybody.  Really really great work.

moose I wouldn't mind if mine came in a bit heavy either.  Send it anyway lol

There are some great bows going on here. That take down sure would be sweet. I don't have a take down yet.

Shame about the air bubbles. That sucks man! I feel for you. It was looking great.

Nice tips d I like working antler. It's very strong stuff and beautiful when polished up.

Boy a bit light would not bother me and those are some nice and thin tips. Nice job on them bows.

Got my bow out of the clamps and its all ready to bring into shape. Should have pictures of it either tomorrow or the next day. I think it will be a good looking bow. Its pretty long right now 66 t-t-t. I think I am going to cut it down to 64 t-t-t so its not so long and it will be just a bit thicker tips to help line up the string a little more.

I will get some pictures up once I get it into shape.

Great lookin' bows! I haven't heard a single complaint about a bow being a little light... Guess everyone's willing to accept a nice bow as is, huh? Me, too!  :bigsmyl:

talkingcabbage

Heavy or light, don't bother me a bit!

Got started on take II today. Same basic design, but I decided to move the splice a couple inches closer to the handle. I think I'm gonna keep the same curve look for the handle and tip overlays, just to throw a few more curves in there. And I think I'm gonna make a walnut core lam for a darker stripe down the edge. Maybe make it look a little nicer yet?
