Matt and Kris, great looking bows.  Kris, your knapping is coming along nicely.  Those are some killin arras!  I especially like the pitch and sinew on the points.

No flippin there Kelly. Thats a full blown, hard core static recurve buddy! And a VERY short bow! I cant wait to see this.

Well pearl that not what I meant to errrr I mean that is exactly what I was going for.

Here is the other side.

I've never tried flipping tips even though I've got a hickory stave that I've got that in mind for.  Its amazing to me how much you can bend wood with some heat.

Well I got down to my last piece of boo (I know, I know, I said I was done with boo but I just couldn't help it) and my last strip of osage and managed to get it to work.  Got it tillered and the riser shaped out a few days ago and started shooting it lastnight and tonight.  After about 100 plus shots I scaled it a little bit ago and it came in between my requirements so whheeeewwww a huge sigh of relief.  I'm still gonna shoot her some more.  I'll put some pics of it up when I finish dressing her up.  Maybe get it finished up tomorrow.  I've got a 3d shoot on Sunday I may take it through the course don't know yet.

Truely great looking bows being crafted on here.  My hats off to everyones work that I have seen so far.

That's one good looking bend Kelly.

Back to my previous picture of the riser.  I agree with PatB.  It wasn't the TBIII's fault for the riser detaching from the stave.  It was of my own doing, but I was just p'd off that I had to fix it.  lol.  I had to use epoxy to fix the ends of the risers.  Here's a new picture of it now.

Should I start with another bow or should I stick with this one.  What do you guys think?

Evil you might try cutting the riser off and doing a laminated. Riser of several layers.

I would suggest starting a new bow for your swap and keep that one around for yourself to experiment with.

any body that ships or recieves over the next 10 days needs to send me a PM or email. Kelly is gonna preoccupied with family fun and won't be in to keep track. With the hours I've been working I have a hard time keeping up here so just drop me a line.

Trux, Real nice, I like it.  You guys fron New Mexico are sure building some killer bows.  The one I recieved from rmorris is outstanding, and this one of yours is real sweet also....Dan

My trade bow problems continue.  My plan "C" bow, a 64" ttt hackberry lost 7 pounds after I glued a cherry bark backing on it.  I used rubber strips to hold the cherry bark in place till the glue dried and ended up with a thin film of glue on the belly, which I scraped off and sanded lightly. When I shot it again and checked the weight, it was 7 pounds lighter than it was before adding the backing.  Thinking of adding a belly slat of osage to bring the weight back up.  How thick would I need to add 7 to 10 pounds?....Dan

Dan how long did set after the glue dried? I backed one with cherry bark and it lost a couple pounds, I assume from the moisture in the glue. two weeks later it gained a few pounds over what it was when I backed it.

Sticks, 3 or 4 days.  It's been almost two weeks now, I'll re weigh it and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks for the info.

PD, I have a few slats lying around that should work if the weight don't come back, like Sticks suggested.....Dan

Yesterday afternoon I worked more on the tiller of my trade bow. It's around 55# at 20" at present. I'm taking my time and scraping slowly. I have the bow at a low brace tomorrow I'll brace higher and may take a few short-drawn shots.

Its March Madness in the swap and on the court! I love it.
