Seriously considering the purchase of my next takedown recurve and planning on buying a rose oak wildcat or a foley takedown. Any thoughts and has anyone shot both?

I bought a Rose Oak Wildcat about a year ago. It is a very smooth drawing bow. Great speed. It shoots where you are looking. The craftmanship is second to none. If you go their web site, look at the custom bow examples. My bow is shown thier. It has a solid paduak riser with figured cherry lams. the limbs have bamboo cores.

I really like my rose oak smooth and very quiet. Never shot a foley.

wingnut

I;m going to step up for the Foley.  Ron builds one of the best recurves you never heard of.  He hits a few shows, advertises a little, but is just now getting high speed internet so he can play in the area also.

You won't be disappointed with Ron's bows.

Never shot or handled a rose oak.

Like Wingnut I have not handled or shot a Rose Oak , but can attest that Ron Foley's bows are absolutely superb, and Ron is an extremely nice guy.

I will second Rons bow's Awesome performers with a grip that fits like a glove.

Brandons Wildcat is no slouch by no means I think your decision will come down to eye candy

But for raw performance and great arrow speed from a lower weight bow, The Foley gets the nod.

Good luck on your choice you have a tough one to make between theese two.IMHO

Never handled a RO but have handled and shot Foley bows and they are as good as it gets.

only have the rose oak but the bow is as good as they get and the service is AAA plus

Seeking Trad Deer

No experience with RO but I think Foley is the most underrated bowyer out there.  His t/d recurve bows are comprable with the best of the best IMHO.

I dropped into Ron's shop this last July looking for a left handed bow for my son.  I was really impressed with his beautiful craftsmanship and the performance of all the bows I shot.  He had one bow in particular 50# @ 28" that really felt great.  I'm right handed....weeelll one thing led to another and then he made me a deal I couldn't refuse and the rest is history.  Still haven't found that left handed bow I was looking for but my Foley bow is second to none.  I hunted with it most of this last fall.  You would not be disappointed.

My Foley is awesome, 1st 2 guys I let shoot it wanted to buy it, good looking and will hang with the best of them in the speed department..

I think Brandon will get a TKO in the fifth round over Ron.

I have seen a Foley but it was left handed so I didn't shoot it but it didn't look quite on par with my Rose Oaks for fit and finish. Brandon really has things figured out and his service and prices are great. I'm gonna order my 5th bow from him soon. Mike

I have one of Ron Foley's longbows I got from him at  Denton Hill, and love it!  He's a great person to deal with.  His website is:

Phone number (254)729-2248.  I here Ron is a busy guy and may take a while to get back to you if he's not right there when you call.  I've been looking at his bows awhile.
