I need arrow help.

I finally got my new bow the other day and I'm having problems finding the correct arrow. I dropped down in weight and can't seem to put the right arrow/BH weight combo together.
I have a Chek-Mate H2 shootin 50lb@30in, Dynaflight string off the shelf.
The Vapor's I'm tryin to shoot just aren't working out. They are the 3000's, 30.5 in long with 5in feathers. I have tried with 175,200,225, and 250gr heads with no luck.
I wanted to get a heavy FOC. Should I go up to the 4000's or should I give up the big FOC and shoot aluminum. :confused:

Is your arrow shooting consistently stiff or weak? Do you pull the full 50#? Give us just a bit more information and perhaps we can give you a hand

I don't know much at all about aluminum, but my bet is the spine is too weak on the 3000's. The Hunter II is cut about 1/4" past center, has good performance, on top of your long draw and the heavy points.....

The bow is actually 53@31. I'm pulling right at 30in, so should be right at 50lb @30in. LBR may be correct, it seems to do best with 170gr heads, but no matter what I do I always get a "kick up" and a right or left kick. I have moved the nock from 1/4 to 1in above square and 9/16 seems the best. At this nock position the 170's shoot to the left, but with pretty good flight. If I go higher point weight, I start getting a kick to the right which usaully means stiff. I confused.

I am shooting full length 65/75 carbon shafts (Gander Mountain branded which are Carbon Express "seconds") with 250 field points and the factory insert. I draw 32" on a Chek-Mate H-2 which is arounf 56# at 32". Likely you need to go up.

Have you tried going down in point weight (say 125) to see what it does with those shafts?

Robert,
If you are a RH shooter, arrows grouping to the left of your point of aim are generally stiff. Thus, moving up in point weight should move your arrow right (weaker). You might try moving up only a small amount of weight and see if that brings you to center. If not, I'd recommend bare shaft tuning and starting from scratch. Your goal should be a slightly weak bare shaft (4"-5" weak). Once the shaft is fletched, it will stiffen a bit and should fly right down the pike.

Glad you like it! Dang pretty bow for sure.

One other thing you might try is building out the strike plate, or like BobW suggested try a 100 or 125 grain point just to see what happens.

I tried a 125 point to see what happened and it was awful. So I added a 50gr brass insert and three 5gr brass rings behind the BH.
It seemed to really help, but it was really windy at the time. I'm gonna shoot tomorrow when the wind dies.
If the added weight works it will bring my total point weight to 300grs. Giving me a 580gr arrow. That will be almost 12gr/lb.
