I am new to traditional archery and i just order a couple longbows and was not sure what i should be shooting out of them i have carbons from shooting my compounds. But i was wanting to go to wood arrows but was not sure on the pros and cons of wood arrows.

You will find that each material has it's critics and fans.
It is really a 'want' thing. I 'want' wood arrows, even though other materials may make more sense to others.
I prefer blonds too, and that's just how it is.

I shoot both. carbon is expesnive tough as nails though and you never have to straighten them. Wood is nice I love the smell of port odford cedar. Its not realy better than carbon but there is something about it.-Scott
Self reliance cannot be bought

Well, I prefer carbon, and that's what I shoot all the time from my laminated bows. carbon is very tough and accurate. But I do shoot wood from my self-bows, I think there must be some kinda law against using anything but wood in a nice self-bow.   . you gotta love the smell of a newly broken cedar!!

I have shot both out of my longbows but wood just seems right.  I think wood shafts toughness or under rated.  That being said there is nothing wrong with shooting carbon.  You have some good hunting around Danville.  Hunted there several years ago with a friend of mine that married a girl from there.
