I hear alot of traditional shooters using carbon arrows. What is the advantage?

When I shot a compound, carbon was my choice over aluminum because they were either perfectly straight or broken,no inbetween. They are pretty darn durable also.

I much prefer wooden arrows with my bows now tho........birch being my favorite.

Could be some of the same reasons I listed, also the weights are very consistant which makes for a very closely matched set of arrows.
Bowhunting......A way of life and death.

I like the carbons because they hold up so much better when stump shooting and are eaiser to make. Theres not as much involved as there is with wood.

I forgot to add though they are hard to add weight too.

I always enjoyed making my own wood arrows and shooting them.  Rouge River tapered shafts were fantastic.  Bought some wood shafts that were real disappointing after RRA went out of business.  Felt like a real waste when they were all finished and wouldn't stay straight.  Also bought some carbons but didn't like putting over 250 grains up front and still not having them fly good.  Recently bought a dozen of the new Easton Epic 600's that are perfect for my 45# draw weight.  They are the smaller 9/32 diameter and they fly fantastic out of my Great Northern Fireball hybrid longbow.  Very consistent and I am having a blast shooting them out of my longbow.  PS I found that for me they all fly better with cock feather in.

So if you buy carbons you should by them on the weak side of spine?
Self reliance cannot be bought
