Alluminum Question

This is a two part question. First, what vendor or other source carries the cheapest aluminum shafts( I think that I want to buy Easton Gamegetters if it matters). The second part is what type of arrow ( in reference to the number on the shaft Example:2216) would i need to match wood arrows spined at 65-70.

What draw lenght?

I shoot a 2216 = 84# out of a 53# bow, But i have a 30" draw and shoot a 31 3/4" arrow with a 145 grain tip.

I am lost------so why would guys shooting 50# bows have such success with aluminum---and say they exclusively shoot them? I mean-----according to the chart, there isn't an aluminum spined under 61# or so.

Now I am completely confused

I have a longbow that shoots 27''  65-70 woods and 2018s the same.  My son has a recurve that likes 55-60 @28'' woods, that gets good flight with 2018 with 145 grain points, but the longbow he shoots, 60lbs. likes the 55-60 and 60-65 woods but not 2018s.
For that bow it's 1918s and 2016s.

I have a 49@28  and shoot 28". I bareshafted 2016 and they turned hard left. 2117 turned hard right and 2018 shot right on..my bow likes 60-65 woodies...I shoot south paw..srta (Sponsor) had a sale not that long ago

Jbiorn. I only listed the sizes starting at the weight Fresno Field Archer listed there are many more lighter.

I shoot 2216's out of 75-80# recurves & longbows.  The charts are a good starting point.  I shot aluminum for more than 20 yrs. and found that your better off with the big diameter/thinner walls than the other way around but many MANY people on this site seem to do fine shooting the skinny things.

remember when switchin between aluminum and woodies that your point weight usually changes, with the insert, broadhead adapter etc.used in the aluminum.. that will change the spine some

This is the chart (alum to wood)I've used for years.. I think I copied this from Black Widow years a go.
This has always worked for me as a great place to start.

1916- 45/50
2016- 50/55
2018- 55/60
2020- 60/65
2117- 60/65
2216- 65/70
2219- 70/75
3215- 70/75
