Look and listen for them before they go to roost. Primary feeding areas should be a good bet for the fall. Learn to Kee Kee Run and Assembly Yelp.  It is easier to call a fall bird after the flock has been busted up. Coarse yelps and clucks are good to call a lone gobbler in. Best of luck.

Good to see you posting Chris! Ron is right if you can put them to bed it is much easier calling one in in the morning when they are finding each other to flock up. Let us know how it goes!

I don't know about FL but in MO any turkey is legal.  This makes it much easier.  Find where they are feeding or roosting like others suggested, but the big thing is even if you find the out walking around just run at them screaming and bust up the flock.  The just move the direction most of them went, pop up the blind and start calling.  They will come running.  Fall Turkeys are a blast.
Sights, SIGHTS, we don't need no stinkin sights!!!!!

I would wait on the mouth(I don't think you have enough time to learn to use one) and get yourself a good box call instead. They are easy to use and are good for getting them into you in the morning. I would try to find some areas they are feeding in if you are allowed Toms only and set up an ambush. Locators may work for you down there but I don't have as much response with them in the fall as I do the spring.

Gobblers are tough to kill in the fall but it can be done. These are some things that have worked for me in the fall. I hunt them in the north east so methods may differ. When i look for gobblers in the fall i look for scratching were they are feeding, gobblers like to scratch close to the base of trees.  this is the first sign that you are on the right track, of coarse you can shoot jakes also so they will travel with the main flock but sometimes they will form a group of there own. If you are lucky enough to find a flock of adult gobblers try to break the flock up, i have found they like to reassemble on higher ground, if they get back together at all. You will need patience as they are in no hurry to get together. I would wait at least an hour before i make my first call to adult gobblers twenty minuets will do if they are young birds . Call real sparingly using just a couple deep clucks and three slow coarse yelps use your hand to scratch in the leaves or what ever dead vegetation you have there. If the birds are young ones you can use the kee kee call with your mouth call jakes seem to prefer coarse calls over high pitched call because i think they like to get together with other jakes, i have also had good luck calling in jakes in the fall with a combo of kee kee and cutting on a box call. If you break up a flock just try what ever seems to be working at that moment, old birds call sparingly and young ones you can call a lot if they answer me i keep calling to keep there attention, i don't feel you can over call to young birds unless they have been under a lot of hunting pressure. Good luck. you will learn as you go sometimes that is the best way to learn. If you do kill one just stay in the area and have some fun with the others the more you call in the more you will learn about them.

They might work but you would be better off with some turkey calls.

They can work. I had the old Toms gobbling and chasing hens this fall. The hens wanted nothing to do with them but it didn't stop the boys from putting on a show.

Chris,

Let me look around, I seem to think I might have a couple of instructional tapes or cd's around, if I can dig them up I'll send them to you.
