Congrats on the deer Brent! Great story,  I watched my dad grunt and miss a buck twice before he connected on his third shot a few years back.

2BIG and I are going to have to show all you MI guys how to trap those pesky coyotes!

I would sit there tonight with an 12 auto and some #4 buck and get some revenge.
Congrats on the buck and Im glad you could salvage some.

That stinks about the coyotes.  :-(   Good job getting him though.

Way to go Brent!    I just switched this year and still waiting to score. Hunting on the ground is tough. Sat. I had a spike in the morning and two does Sat. evening 10yrds, but couldn't get pulled back.

Nice going! Good thing the coyotes seemed to prefer ribs over backstraps!

Looks like Ron owes us a story, too.  :saywhat:

Way to go Brent! Those yotes can be a big problem here as well. I give the deer four or five hours and go looking around 11pm. Tough going in the night but keeps you ahead of the yotes most of the time.

Congrats on breaking in the bow and knife, and getting at least some of the meat...

Nice buck.

Sorry about the yotes theiving part of your deer.
I have seen them reduce a deer to bones, and hide.

Thanks for the support, that is one thing about tradgangers. That really makes this group stand out above all.

When I started hunting 40 years ago, my dad was (still is) a hard core fox chaser with hounds in the winter. We had NO Coyotes here, except way north. Now they are everywhere! Guess after first of the year, I had better start working them over.

I will be back in that stand before sunrise in the morning. Gotta see if I cannot do what I was suppose to on the farm. Like harvest some does!! If I don't I may be looking for a new place to hunt!

I wish you all a good season, and be safe above all.

Way to go Brent!  That is so cool, and a great story too.  Can't let a couple of uninvited guests spoil a great party.  You still ended up with the best parts

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

Way to go Brent! Great looking buck... even after those darned yotes got to him. Man, you used to never have to worry about them around here, now I get nervous if I have to leave a deer overnight... unfortunately your deer proved that.

Sorry about the misfortune of the coyotes, but it could have been much worse!

Congrats again bud!

Hey Brett,

Marvin called me the other night and told me you scored! I didn't realize then that it was your first one. BIG CONGRATS!

Sorry about the Yotes... Did you set up later on the gutpile? :0)

We need to shoot again. Hopefully I'll be able to make the league at Bob's this year.

See Ya

Congrats on the shot.  Great deer and story.  Now it's time to go for the coyote.  Dave from Nova Scotia
A bad day of hunting is still far better than a good day at work.
