I decided to camp as simply as possible, and just take Mountain House freeze dried food...lets just say I survived, but my cast iron dutch oven will definitely go with me on any more trips where I can camp right next to my truck.

I had recently purchased a Browning Glacier tent, and let me tell you I was impressed, the first night a thunderstorm moved through, but by the morning it was snowing, the tent withstood some pretty strong winds, and my military surplus sleeping bag was perfect for the occasion keeping me nice and toasty.

I had a great time in Georgia, sadly I have to report that no hogs were killed, but I had a great time regardless. If you have never been to the Cohutta WMA, you need to experience the natural beauty of God's great creation, when I was planning this trip one website called this area the "Land that time forgot"...I know I'll never forget it. Thanks for letting me share this trip with you.

Looks like a great time in some beautiful woods. Nice camp too. I'd like to try that one day.

Thanks for sharing! Great pics. I think most of us understand that it is more about the journey than the destination.

Good trip Kenny, coming all the way from Indiana.  Assuming that you will return for more, you might want to join the TBG and get connected with some serious trad bowhunters who have member hunts around the state.  There is a group that hunts that particular area and might could point you in the right direction there, or you could try some good public areas to the south.  I think the quality of hog hunting increases as you go south in GA.  The public area I now hunt generally provides opportunities for shots most every day.
