One nock or two?

I think 2 over all is best...but 90% of the time I only have 1...doesn't seem to hinder me even when I'm playing around with unorthodox shots...I like 1 for quick nocking when hog hunting.

I've definitely had my best tuning results with one on each side of the nock. Just make sure you have a little play between the arrow and the bottom nocking point.

I prefer two and shoot three under. I have a 1/16" gap between the bottom of the arrow nock and bottom string nock. At full draw, my top string nock and bottom string nock just come in contact with my arrow nock.

Definitely easier to tie and better string nocks out there. At times, my knot even frustrates myself...     :D    LOL!

Played with this quite a bit and for me, shooting three under, one above and one below works best. Like was stated previously, leave a little wiggle room between the arrow knock and bottom knock point.

Perfer 2, however fine with one when concerned with need to quick nock.

Hunting from a ground blind may present nocking difficulties nearing the limits of shooting hours.

Have had mildly cold fingers and could not readily feel the nock index nor the string nock and needed to nock an arrow quickly.

For three under , go with two, unless the string fits your nocks just right.  I prefer one under the arrow for split, but the serving and the nock need to be made to fit each other.  I get strings from Chad and they fit my nocks perfectly for that purpose.   Which reminds me, I need to get a few strings for next spring.

One. Makes it easier to nock an arrow quickly for me. I've shot bows with 2 nocks and didn't notice a difference, I just had to look down in order to nock the arrow, which in a hunting situation I don't really want to have to do.

If you handle the arrow by the nock, it is possible to feel the nocking point or points and hit it without looking.  With full length arrows and skinny nocks with no index that may be more difficult.  I use Mercury nocks on wood and aluminum.

I just received a new bow and couldn't wait to shoot it. I shoot 3-under. I tied one nock (the upper) in my usual place and was consistently getting nock low. Came back in to the basement and tied on the second nock point and Presto! No more nock low. I think the arrow was slipping down the string at the release.

I can't seem to decide whether one is better than another. Most of the time, once I decide for certain where I want the one above the nock, I will tie on one below it. I just don't like messing with moving two nock points. I shoot split, so the second one probably isn't all that necessary.

When I shot three under, I had the same issue Bladepeek just mentioned, so I figure it can't hurt to have two shooting split either.

Also, I usually hunt from a blind or a stand, so I have an arrow nocked already. So far, I haven't needed a quick follow-up shot...or rather had the opportunity for one, lol!

I shoot a fixed crawl and use 2. There is a video out there in super slo-mo that shows how the arrow nock moves down the string upon release when using only one. Enlightening.
Also, I second using Ryan's nock tying. Extremely effective and neat. I do have to resort to re-viewing his video every once and a while though as my memory fails me more than I would like. I also failed "knots" in Boy Scouts.

Thank you Ryan. This is very helpful! Sure would like a video looking over your shoulder instead of facing you. Have to think backwards...some days it is hard thinking front wards! Haha
